“On all levels, Alphabetti is a very welcome addition to Newcastle’s culture scene, and it deserves our support and applause.”
A Brief History
August 2012 - we introduced the world to Teeth In Eggcups our comedy sketch with 16 nights at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival
March 2013 - we transformed, on a shoestring budget a dilapidated room above a pub in Newcastle upon Tyne into the city's premier fringe performance space. We moved in and began booking work for Upstairs at The Dog & Parrot
September 2013 - we received an Arts Council England grant to support the running of our the 2nd Season in the venue - The Brolly Season.
July 2014 - we received an Arts Council England grant to support a theatre peice written entirely in verse - Best Bitter.
September 2014 - we moved out of the The Dog & Parrot, we're currently working on moving into two new venues, one a basement of an art gallery in Newcastle city centre and the other a small pop up venue.
Alphabetti is made up of a group of entertainers; consisting of scriptwriters, actors, comedians, artists and musicians. We are so much more than a theatre company, we work across the board in all types of performance. If you like what you see online - come to one of our events.
